Break down equipment for materials and upgrade your gear to (i), (ii), and (iii) versions
The Salvaging & Upgrading system allows you to break down equipment into valuable materials and use those materials to upgrade your gear to more powerful versions. Equipment can be upgraded through three tiers: (i), (ii), and (iii), each providing significant stat increases.
There are three types of materials used in the upgrade system:
Obtained from salvaging any tier of equipment. Required for all upgrade tiers.
Obtained from salvaging (i) tier and above items. Required for tier 2 and 3 upgrades.
Only obtained from salvaging (iii) tier items. Required for the final tier 3 upgrade.

If an upgrade fails, both your item AND all materials used in the attempt will be destroyed. Make sure you have backup gear before attempting risky upgrades!

Successfully upgrading an item to Tier 3 (iii) will trigger a server-wide announcement celebrating your achievement!
The following equipment sets can be salvaged and upgraded:
Collect base tier equipment to salvage for materials before attempting any upgrades.
With 60% success rate, tier 1 upgrades are relatively safe. Start here to build confidence.
Always have duplicate equipment before attempting tier 2+ upgrades to reduce the sting of failure.
Divine Essence is rare (only from tier 3 items). Don't waste it on uncertain tier 3 attempts.
Tier 3 upgrades have only 30% success. That's a 70% chance to lose everything!
Build up a stockpile of shards and cores before committing to expensive upgrade attempts.
